Staying physically active during the winter months can be tough. Frankly, who wants to go out when you can curl up in a blanket by the fire while sipping a hot beverage?
Don't worry, we're going to help you remain active and overcome winter barriers with the following tips:
- Joining a weekly walking/jogging group. Search online for a walking/jogging group or start your own.
- Taking a weekly class at the gym. Classes in aerobics, yoga, Spinning®, Zumba® or toning are available throughout the area. Regular classes are helpful for people who may have only one hour available in the evening.
- Using DVDs at home. There are plenty of well-done, affordable exercise DVDs available.
- Training for a spring walk, 5K walk or run, or even a marathon. Knowing you have a competition coming up may be just the motivation you need.
The most important thing is to look at fitness as part of your everyday life.
