Homemade Instant Oatmeal (Video)

Need a quick and healthy breakfast? Make your own instant oatmeal! With this recipe you can control sugar and salt amounts that tend to be high in pre-packaged instant oatmeal packs, all for a fraction of the cost and none of the preservatives.

In a sandwich bag, put:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit
  • 2T chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground flax or chia seeds
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Pour into bowl, add 1 cup of hot water or milk and stir to thicken.
